A few years ago, I did a search on the Internet and to my delight came up with this site that is dedicated to me and my career thus far, specifically from my role as Alan Frog in THE LOST BOYS. I got the opportunity to talk and e-mail with Samantha Anderer who has been the brains and motivation behind the site along with Kimberley Langley. As fate would have it, Kimberley and I had spoken years ago, around the time when THE LOST BOYS came out (1987ish) after a very nice letter she sent to me. When I recently spoke with Samantha, we talked about how there is a growing group of people, some who were teenagers back when the movie was out, and some who represent a new generation of Lost Boys fans, who love to come to this and many other sites and check out updates on the players and see what everybody’s up to.Like all those involved in the movie, being a part of THE LOST BOYS changed my life. I was just a wild and spastic young kid of 15 years old when I was first called in to audition for the Frog Brothers. I met Corey Feldman that day, already well-known from his roles in GOONIES and GREMLINS, and looking to add another great role to his long list of edgy and hilarious performances. Little did I know that I was about to enter a new realm of the Hollywood dream, where I would work closely with Corey Haim – a favorite of mine from his portrayal of the title role in LUCAS; Jason Patric; Kiefer Sutherland; Alex Winter; the knock-out beauty who is Jami Gertz; as well as veteran and seasoned performers like Dianne Wiest and Ed Herrmann. What a cast! What an experience!
Just like everybody else in the film, my path since then has been uniquely my own. Shortly after the film’s release, I went off to New York City where I studied theatre and liberal arts at New York University, and acted roles on stage in the Big Apple as well as in theaters around America. In 2003, I was honored by having my film ROOSTER debut on the festival circuit and most notably at the Hamptons International Film Festival. Today, I am writing for a living, and I act when the opportunity presents itself. I have begun to write movies that I hope will have the same magic appeal as THE LOST BOYS. I have been known to play a friendly game of cards over at Corey Feldman’s house, where I’ve had the honor to meet his lovely wife and cute new baby…and where I’ve also had the honor of losing some cash.
So, welcome to the site! Samantha is always updating it, and with the recent release of the Special Edition DVD more and more visitors are coming. I do get fan mail from this site as well, so if you want to give a shout out, please do. Thanks for your support!
